Two Teens Arrested in Redwood City Pride Attack

Two 13-year-old boys were arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and a hate crime after allegedly throwing fireworks and shouting homophobic slurs at a Pride event in Redwood City just before 6 p.m. at Courthouse Square during the city's official Pride Month celebration. The incident, partially captured on surveillance video, resulted in two adult victims, with one sustaining minor injuries. The suspects fled but one was apprehended the same night and the other the following evening. Both teens were released to the San Mateo County Youth Services Center as the investigation continues.
