Nvidia Unveils Blackwell Ultra, Vera Rubin Chips for AI Advancement
At the GTC conference, Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang unveiled the new Blackwell Ultra chips, designed to enhance AI technology performance, capable of producing significantly more tokens per second compared to previous generations. The Blackwell Ultra will be available in different configurations, including a rack version with up to 72 chips. Additionally, Huang previewed upcoming architectures, including the Vera Rubin GPU, set to launch in 2026, which promises considerable advancements in memory capacity and processing power. Huang emphasized the increasing demand for computing power due to the rise of complex 'agentic AI' models, predicting a need for 100 times more computing resources than previously estimated. Despite his optimistic outlook on demand, Nvidia's stock fell over 3% post-event, reflecting investor concerns about competition and spending in the AI sector. The company's roadmap aims to prepare businesses for the escalating computing demands as they develop sophisticated AI applications.
