Düsseldorf Pizzeria Busted for Cocaine Sales
A pizzeria in Düsseldorf, Germany, was recently raided by police after it was discovered that its popular Pizza No. 40 was served with a side of cocaine. The investigation began in March when food inspectors found drugs in the kitchen, leading to surveillance of the restaurant. Police later arrested the 36-year-old owner after he threw a bag of drugs out the window, which landed in the arms of waiting officers, revealing 3.5 pounds of cocaine, 400 grams of cannabis, and €268,000 in cash. After being released from custody, the owner reopened the pizzeria and continued selling the pizza, prompting further investigations that uncovered a larger drug ring involving three suspects and multiple cannabis plantations. The operation linked to a violent 22-year-old Russian mixed martial arts fighter who was already under suspicion for drug dealing. The pizzeria has since been closed permanently.
