Slidell Man Arrested After Truck Hit by Train During Parade

Robert King, a 45-year-old Slidell man, was arrested for intentionally parking his truck on railroad tracks during the Krewe of Titans Mardi Gras parade, leading to the vehicle being struck by a southbound freight train. While the parade was occurring, King created a disturbance in the crowd, prompting multiple attendees to alert police about his behavior. Officers located him several blocks away after searching for him due to reports of his irrational conduct, but by then, his truck had already been hit by the train. Fortunately, no injuries were reported from the incident. King has been charged with aggravated obstruction of a highway and disturbing the peace, with further charges anticipated as the investigation progresses. Slidell Police Chief Randy Fandal emphasized the importance of the public reporting concerning behavior during such events.
