IndiGo to Launch 10 New Overseas Destinations
IndiGo, India's largest airline, will expand its international network with direct flights to 10 new overseas destinations, including London, Manchester, Amsterdam, Athens, Copenhagen, Siem Reap, and four cities in Central Asia in the 2025-26 financial year. The expansion marks IndiGo's entry into long-haul operations, with initial flights to Manchester and Amsterdam from Mumbai beginning in July 2025 on wet-leased Boeing 787 aircraft. IndiGo is also investing in new maintenance infrastructure in Bengaluru to support both widebody and narrowbody fleets and aims to surpass 600 aircraft by 2030. Domestically, the airline will add four new cities, bringing its Indian network to 95 destinations. These moves position IndiGo to compete directly with Air India in premium international travel and to help establish India as a global aviation hub. The expansion comes amid strong financial results and operational challenges, such as restricted airspace over Pakistan affecting route planning.
