Xbox Cloud Gaming Enables User Game Streaming
Microsoft has launched a new feature for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers that allows them to stream games they own, regardless of whether those titles are part of the Game Pass library. Initially available on select platforms like Samsung Smart TVs and Amazon Fire TV devices, and expected to expand to Xbox consoles and PCs in 2025, this feature supports 50 games including popular titles like Baldur’s Gate 3 and Cyberpunk 2077. Users can only stream games they have purchased digitally, as physical disc ownership is not supported, aligning with a growing digital-first approach in gaming. Ashley McKissick, Xbox VP, emphasized the commitment to expanding the library of streamable titles in the future. This development represents a significant shift from the previous limitations of Xbox Cloud Gaming, which only allowed access to Game Pass titles. The new streaming capability is seen as a response to the evolving gaming landscape, offering greater flexibility and accessibility to gamers.
