Woman Jumps from Window to Escape Knife-Wielding Son

A 64-year-old woman in Astoria, Queens, jumped from her third-floor window to escape her son, who threatened her with a knife during an argument on Friday night. The woman suffered a broken leg from the fall and was taken to Elmhurst Hospital, where she is in stable condition. Police are searching for her 36-year-old son, who fled the scene and has a lengthy criminal history with over 30 arrests. Initially, authorities believed he had barricaded himself in the apartment, but later found it vacant. Investigators are currently reviewing surveillance footage to locate him. Neighbors reported hearing screams and frequent fights between the mother and son.
