Rev. Kimberly Heath Installed 45th Moderator United Church Canada Calgary

Rev. Dr. Kimberly Heath was elected as the 45th Moderator of The United Church of Canada during the 45th General Council held in Calgary, Alberta. After a competitive process with five nominees, Heath won on the third ballot and will serve a three-year term as the spiritual leader of the church. Her installation took place at Knox United Church and was streamed live with bilingual interpretation. Heath, originally from Zambia and raised in Canada, emphasized her commitment to deepening faith, strengthening small communities, and fostering connections within the church. She described her role metaphorically as navigating challenging spiritual waters, comparing it to piloting through the tricky Brockville Narrows. Heath plans to divide her time between Toronto, Brockville, and travel, resigning from her previous ministerial position to fully embrace her new responsibilities.
