Irving Tissue Plans $600 Million Expansion in Georgia
Irving Tissue has announced a $600 million expansion of its Macon, Georgia facility, which will create at least 100 new jobs. This expansion, celebrated during the company's fifth anniversary, includes the addition of a third ThruAir Dry paper-making machine, new converting lines, and an automated warehouse. The Macon plant currently employs over 400 workers and produces a range of household paper products, including tissue and paper towels. This investment follows a total of $1.5 billion that Irving Tissue has invested in the community since its establishment in 2017. The expansion aims to meet increasing demand, as the current plant is operating at full capacity. Governor Brian Kemp emphasized the importance of Irving Tissue as a key employer in Georgia's economy.
