Motorcyclists killed in crashes New York New Jersey under investigation

Two fatal motorcycle crashes occurred recently, both under investigation. In Canaan, New York, a 65-year-old motorcyclist died after a 2024 Porsche driven by an 85-year-old man failed to yield while making a left turn, colliding with the motorcycle; the rider was ejected and later died at Albany Medical Center, while the Porsche driver sustained non-life-threatening injuries. The motorcyclist's identity has not been released pending family notification. Separately, in West Milford, New Jersey, a 78-year-old man died after his motorcycle collided with a 2022 Mercedes-Benz driven by an 18-year-old woman, who remained at the scene. Authorities are investigating both incidents and have requested additional information from the public regarding the New Jersey crash. These incidents highlight ongoing concerns about road safety involving motorcycles and vehicles failing to yield right of way.
