OutKast, White Stripes Among 2025 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Inductees

The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame has announced its 2025 inductees, with Bad Company, Chubby Checker, Joe Cocker, Cyndi Lauper, Outkast, Soundgarden, and the White Stripes entering in the performer category. Salt-N-Pepa and Warren Zevon will receive the Musical Influence Award, while Thom Bell, Nicky Hopkins, and Carol Kaye are set for the Musical Excellence Award, and industry executive Lenny Waronker will be honored with the Ahmet Ertegun Award. The ceremony is scheduled for November 8 at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles and will stream live on Disney+. Outkast's induction highlights their foundational role in bringing Southern hip-hop to national prominence. Notably, first-time nominees Outkast, Cocker, Bad Company, and Checker were all selected, while artists like Mariah Carey and Phish did not make the final list. The selection was made by over 1,200 music professionals and a public fan vote.
