Ukrainian Forces Destroy Russian Fuel Train in Zaporizhzhia

On December 14, Ukrainian intelligence agencies executed a coordinated operation that destroyed a Russian train carrying 40 fuel tanks in the Zaporizhzhia region, significantly disrupting a key supply line from Crimea. The operation involved the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), Military Intelligence (HUR), and Special Operations Forces (SSO), beginning with sabotage of railway tracks near Oleksiivka, which led to the train derailing. Following the derailment, HIMARS missile systems targeted the locomotive and railcars to prevent salvage of the fuel. This successful mission resulted in the complete destruction of the train, valued at approximately $4 million, and further enhanced Ukraine's defensive posture amid growing Russian military activity in the area. In contrast, Russian forces reported advances in Donetsk, claiming they had liberated two villages and destroyed Ukrainian Patriot missile systems, highlighting the ongoing intensity of the conflict.
