Riverside Deputy Arrested; Additional Arrests Reported

In Terrell County, Texas, former Chief Deputy and interim sheriff Jose Carlos Juarez turned himself in and was arrested on charges of enhanced theft from a person and tampering with a government record involving a license/seal after resigning when Sheriff Thaddeus Cleveland was sworn in. In Riverside County, California, 25-year-old Deputy Dakota Lasher Robson was arrested on Oct. 9 in Lake Elsinore on suspicion of vehicle theft, possession of a stolen vehicle and unauthorized computer access; he posted $10,000 bail the next day and has been placed on paid administrative leave pending an internal investigation. Robson, hired in June 2023 and assigned to the Southwest station, is at least the third Riverside deputy this year accused of illegally accessing law-enforcement databases, following other arrests and a lawsuit alleging improper searches. Separately, Riverside County deputies arrested 18-year-old Jaylin Solomon and an unnamed 17-year-old in connection with at least two armed jewelry robberies in Perris in August after recovering evidence linked to the crimes.
