Joshua Ward Charged With Armed Robbery in Gulfport

Joshua Paxton Ward, a 22-year-old man, has been arrested and charged with armed robbery after allegedly using a machete to demand jewelry from a victim at a Gulfport gas station on August 9. Witnesses reported that Ward brandished the weapon, laughed, and shouted obscenities before fleeing the scene. Gulfport police responded shortly after the incident, and Ward was apprehended without incident. He is currently being held at the Harrison County Adult Detention Center with a bond set at $500,000. The robbery occurred around 12:53 p.m. in the 1700 block of Kelly Avenue, where the police received reports of the armed threat. Ward faces one count of armed robbery as he awaits further legal proceedings.
