Woman Dies After Inverness Double Stabbing, Man Charged
A 51-year-old woman, Miriam MacDonald, died in hospital following a double stabbing incident at a house on Craigton Avenue in Inverness, where her 55-year-old husband was also seriously injured. Emergency services responded to the scene on Sunday evening, and both victims were taken to Raigmore Hospital, with the woman later succumbing to her injuries. A 30-year-old man, Thomas Fraser, was arrested and initially charged with attempted murder before being charged in connection with Miriam's death. The suspect made no plea at Inverness Sheriff Court and was remanded in custody for further examination. The local community has expressed condolences, describing Miriam and her husband as a lovely couple and mourning the tragic loss. Police confirmed the incident was contained and that no further suspects are being sought.
