Pima County Fair Opens with Focus on Safety, Community

The Pima County Fair has opened in Tucson, drawing large crowds and emphasizing enhanced safety and community engagement. Organizers have increased security measures significantly, including the use of metal detectors for the first time and deploying over 300 security personnel, which includes the Pima County Sheriff's Department, in-house and private security, and emergency staff. To ensure child safety, parents are encouraged to use wristbands with contact information and take photos of their children upon arrival. The fair features new attractions this year such as three new rides, an expanded kid's area, additional concerts included with admission, and budget-friendly food options, including value meals and free admission days for food bank donations. Improvements have also been made to parking and accessibility, with thousands of jobs created for the local economy. The fair is also partnering with local service organizations and has introduced a Vietnam Memorial Wall to honor veterans.
