Police Vehicle Kills Ojol Driver During Jakarta Protest, Officers Questioned

The death of 21-year-old online motorcycle taxi (ojol) driver Affan Kurniawan during protests in Jakarta has sparked widespread outrage over police brutality, with social media and large crowds condemning the incident. Affan was run over by an armored vehicle operated by the National Police's Mobile Brigade while the police were dispersing protesters demanding better wages and political reforms. Another ojol driver was injured in the incident, which took place near Bendungan Hilir II flats, Central Jakarta. Seven police officers from the Mobile Brigade are currently under investigation for their role in the incident, with authorities promising a thorough legal process.
