Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, co-owners of Wrexham AFC since 2020, have submitted plans for a new Wrexham Lager super brewery, taproom, and museum near the football club's Racecourse ground. The project is part of the broader Wrexham Gateway regeneration masterplan aimed at revitalizing the city center and creating a destination for fans and tourists. Since acquiring the historic Wrexham Lager brand in 2024, one of the world's oldest lagers famously served on the Titanic, the pair intend to modernize the brewery while celebrating its heritage. The brewery venue will include tasting rooms, a restaurant, and new public spaces, designed to provide an attractive welcome to the city and enhance the visitor experience.
