Two Boys Linked to Multiple Lincoln Arsons Causing $6,000 Damage
Two boys, aged 9 and 12, have been linked by Lincoln police to a series of three arson incidents causing approximately $6,000 in damage. The fires began on March 27 with a swing set near South 21st and E streets, which spread to two homes. On May 3, trash cans were set ablaze at Lincoln High School, and surveillance footage showed the boys starting these fires and fleeing on bicycles. The boys were also connected to a third arson near South 20th and Randolph streets. Both were referred to juvenile court on two counts of first-degree arson and one count of third-degree arson and have been released to their parents. Community members emphasize the importance of support for the children and their families, recognizing the challenges in raising troubled youth.
