Iran has deployed its Alborz destroyer to the Red Sea following the US Navy's response to Houthi attacks on commercial vessels, including the Maersk Hangzhou. The Houthis, who have been increasing their attacks on ships since November 2022, were targeted by the US Navy, resulting in the death of ten rebels. Shipping firm Maersk has suspended its operations due to the escalating situation. Despite the ongoing tension, the Pentagon has reported no recent Houthi activity in the area.
