QVC Lays Off 900, Launches TikTok Shop

QVC Group, which includes QVC and HSN networks, is laying off approximately 900 employees as it consolidates operations and transitions towards a social media-focused strategy. The layoffs, representing about 5% of the workforce, are concentrated mainly in Florida, where HSN's operations are moving from St. Petersburg to QVC's headquarters in West Chester, Pennsylvania. This restructuring aligns with QVC's strategic pivot to 'live social shopping,' leveraging platforms like TikTok to drive engagement and sales as traditional TV viewership declines. The company launched a TikTok Shop in August, which has already attracted significant creator participation and traffic. Despite these changes, HSN's TV and digital channels will continue to operate.
