Investigation Underway After Novi Sad Roof Collapse

Serbia has launched an investigation following a roof collapse at a railway station in Novi Sad that resulted in 14 fatalities and three injuries. The incident occurred during renovations, which had seen an investment of 16 million euros. Transport Minister Goran Vesic stated that the inquiry will include the state Traffic Institute, the Serbian Railways, and the Chinese consortium responsible for the renovation. Interior Minister Ivica Dacic indicated that 20 individuals would be interviewed as part of the investigation, which aims to establish accountability for the disaster. As the nation mourns, the opposition has criticized the government for corruption and called for protests. President Aleksandar Vucic has promised justice and demanded severe consequences for those accountable for the collapse.
