Pacers Rookie Kam Jones Arrested After Chase

Indiana Pacers rookie guard Kameron “Kam” Jones, 23, was arrested Oct. 20 after a brief police chase on I‑65 in Indianapolis when an Indiana State Trooper says a black Cadillac passed a marked patrol car at about 90 mph and did not initially stop. The pursuit ended near the Fletcher Avenue/Fountain Square exit with no injuries or property damage reported, and Jones was booked into the Marion County Jail on preliminary charges of reckless driving and resisting law enforcement (some reports classify it as resisting arrest); a court date is pending. Court documents say Jones told officers he didn’t realize he was speeding, was running late for Pacers practice, and did not recognize the trooper’s signal to pull over. The 6-foot-4 guard was the No. 38 pick in the 2025 NBA Draft, selected by San Antonio and traded to Indiana, and signed a four-year deal with the Pacers. Jones has not yet appeared in an NBA game because of a back injury and had been slated to join the Noblesville Boom G‑League affiliate once healthy. The Pacers said they are gathering information and will have no further comment at this time.
