Ohio Governor Awards $3 Million to Drug Task Forces Statewide
Ohio Governor Mike DeWine has announced a distribution of $3 million in funding to 38 local law enforcement agencies to bolster their drug task forces in combating illegal drug activity. The grants, which are part of the 2025 Ohio Drug Law Enforcement Fund, will support efforts to prevent drug trafficking and organized criminal activities related to drugs. Funding will assist agencies in investigating drug trafficking organizations, enhancing intelligence gathering, and providing support to drug overdose victims and their families. Notably, the Allen County Sheriff’s Office will receive $83,500, while the Mahoning and Trumbull County sheriff’s offices will receive $104,260 and $90,655, respectively. Since 2019, this initiative has allocated over $20 million to support drug task forces across the state, reflecting the importance of these agencies in maintaining community safety. Governor DeWine emphasized the critical role of these task forces in deterring drug-related crimes in Ohio.
