Niagara Parks Opens $25M Niagara Takes Flight Attraction

Niagara Parks has launched "Niagara Takes Flight," a $25 million immersive flying theatre attraction located inside the Table Rock Centre at the brink of Horseshoe Falls. Opening on August 29, the attraction uses advanced drone-filmed aerial footage displayed on a massive 180-degree domed screen to simulate a 56-kilometer flight over Niagara Falls, enhanced by motion seats and sensory effects like wind, mist, and scent. Creative Director Rick Rothschild, a former Disney Imagineer who helped create Soarin’ Over California, led the project, while Oscar-winning director James Cameron provided narration for the pre-show, which features four audiovisual storytelling rooms showcasing 13,000 years of Niagara’s history, including Indigenous artwork. The experience aims to deepen visitors' connection to Niagara’s natural and cultural heritage while strengthening the destination’s year-round tourism appeal with a weather-independent attraction. This innovative ride celebrates Niagara’s geography, history, and people, positioning the falls within a broader narrative of global environmental wonders.
