Salt Lake City to Host 2034 Winter Olympics

Salt Lake City has been chosen to host the 2034 Winter Olympics, and Utah has finalized its organizing committee with notable figures in leadership roles. Fraser Bullock, who played a crucial role in the 2002 Winter Olympics, will serve as the executive chair and president of the organizing committee. Brad Wilson, former Utah House Speaker, has been appointed as CEO and will manage day-to-day operations. The committee includes other key figures like Steve Starks as vice chair, with Utah's Governor Spencer Cox and Salt Lake City Mayor Erin Mendenhall serving as honorary chairs. The committee, which is officially formed, is preparing for a $4 billion privately funded event and is open to learning from recent Olympic successes to improve the upcoming Games. The International Olympic Committee has approved the committee’s structure, and Executive Director Christophe Dubi is visiting Utah to share best practices for organizing the event.
