Nicky Butt Resigns as Salford City CEO

Nicky Butt has stepped down as CEO of Salford City to return to coaching, a role he previously held at Manchester United. Butt, who took over from Gary Neville in October 2022, cited his desire to return to the hands-on aspect of player development as the primary reason for his departure. Despite leaving his executive role, Butt will remain an active shareholder and board director at the League Two club, which he co-owns with several of his former Manchester United teammates. Jonathan Jackson, Salford's finance director, will serve as interim CEO following Butt's resignation. Butt expressed confidence that his departure would not disrupt the club's operations, as experienced executives are in place to manage the transition. The announcement follows reports of Chris Casper's departure from the club to join Burnley as their new academy manager.
