Violence Erupts in Manipur Amid Ethnic Tensions

Ongoing ethnic violence in Manipur has intensified, with recent protests resulting in at least one death and the imposition of an indefinite curfew. The unrest is rooted in the longstanding conflict between the Kuki and Meitei communities, which has already claimed over 250 lives and displaced 60,000 since last May. Following the recent killings of women and children from the Meitei community, protesters defied curfews, vandalizing government properties and locking offices in Imphal.
