Zurich Canada restructures into four segments to enhance customer focus
Zurich Canada has restructured its operations into four distinct segments—National, Middle Market, SME, and Retail—to better align with customer needs and improve interactions with brokers. Key leadership appointments include Dane Hambrook overseeing National Accounts, Marco Royer leading Alternative Risk Solutions, Donna Mulligan continuing with Middle Market, and a new head of Retail reporting to Paul Jackson. The new National Accounts unit consolidates areas such as general property, liability, energy, construction, marine, surety, and financial lines. CEO Saad Mered emphasized that these changes are designed to simplify operations, deliver more effective solutions, and strengthen relationships with clients and brokers, positioning Zurich Canada for sustainable growth and market leadership. This restructuring coincides with Zurich Insurance Group's strong first-quarter 2025 financial results, including a 5% increase in gross written premiums in the property and casualty division and an 11% rise in retail segment premiums driven by pricing adjustments and business integration. The reorganization aims to streamline business processes and tailor services to meet specific customer segments more effectively.
