Katy Perry Joins All-Female Crew for Blue Origin Spaceflight Spring 2025

Pop star Katy Perry will join an all-female crew on Blue Origin's upcoming space flight, scheduled for spring 2025. The mission, led by Lauren Sanchez, who is Jeff Bezos's fiancée, also includes CBS Mornings co-host Gayle King, former NASA rocket scientist Aisha Bowe, civil rights activist Amanda Nguyen, and film producer Kerianne Flynn. This flight marks a significant milestone as it will be the first all-female crew in space since Valentina Tereshkova's solo flight in 1963. The mission aims to challenge participants' perspectives of Earth and inspire future generations. Blue Origin has previously flown 52 individuals to suborbital space on its New Shepard rocket, and this upcoming mission will be its 11th human flight. While no specific launch date has been announced, the flight will last approximately 10 minutes, allowing passengers a brief experience of weightlessness.
