Five college students were injured in a car accident at the Geeta Colony flyover in New Delhi early Thursday morning. The group, returning from a birthday celebration at a pub in Gurugram, was traveling in a rented Hyundai Venue when the driver, Ashwani Mishra (19), lost control after becoming distracted while changing songs on his mobile phone. The vehicle crashed into a guardrail, causing severe damage and resulting in critical injuries for Mishra and fellow passenger Ashwani Pandey (19), while the other occupants, Keshav (20), Krishna (18), and Ujjawal (19), also sustained injuries. All five students have been hospitalized at Lok Nayak Hospital. Police are investigating the incident and legal action is anticipated. This incident highlights the dangers of distracted driving, especially among young drivers.
