Bridgers called out Portnow for his previous statement that women needed to 'step up' to be nominated for Grammys. The accusations against Portnow surfaced in 2020 in a lawsuit claiming he drugged and sexually assaulted a member of the Academy. The boygenius band also addressed their upcoming hiatus, stating that it was a pre-planned decision.
