Violence Erupts at Dehradun Railway Station

A violent clash erupted at Dehradun railway station involving members of Hindu and Muslim communities due to an interfaith relationship between a young man and a minor girl from Badaun, Uttar Pradesh. The confrontation led to stone pelting, vandalism of vehicles, and damage to parked trains. Police detained Bajrang Dal leader Vikas Verma, causing further protests. Over 100 individuals were booked under various sections of the Criminal Law (Amendment) Act and Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. Heavy police presence was deployed to restore order, and a thorough investigation is underway, including reviewing CCTV footage to identify the culprits. The girl has been sent back to her family, and the man was released without charges.
