C.J. Mosley Placed on Injured Reserve by Jets
New York Jets linebacker C.J. Mosley has been placed on injured reserve due to a herniated disc in his neck, effectively ending his season after only four games played in 2024. Interim head coach Jeff Ulbrich indicated that this decision may also mark the end of Mosley's tenure with the Jets, as he is under contract through 2025 but could be a cap casualty this offseason. Mosley, a former Pro Bowler and key defensive leader, has struggled with injuries throughout the year, including a neck injury sustained during warmups for a game against the New England Patriots. Releasing him would incur significant dead money against the salary cap, but it could also free up some necessary cap space. His contract and performance history raise questions about his future, with retirement also a possibility. The Jets are facing a challenging season with several key players, including Mosley, sidelined.
