Seattle Kraken Reacquire Daniel Sprong in Trade

The Seattle Kraken have reacquired forward Daniel Sprong from the Vancouver Canucks in exchange for future considerations. Sprong, who previously played for the Kraken and had his best season with them in 2022-23, was signed by the Canucks over the summer but only managed three points in nine games this season. The Kraken are seeking to bolster their offense after a challenging start to the season. The 27-year-old Dutch native has previously played for several NHL teams, including the Pittsburgh Penguins, Anaheim Ducks, Washington Capitals, and Detroit Red Wings, accumulating 165 points in 366 career games. Sprong was initially drafted by the Penguins in the second round of the 2015 NHL Draft. This trade marks his return to Seattle, where he is expected to add scoring depth and familiarity to the team.
