The USDA's Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) has issued a public health alert for mislabeled frozen empanadas sold at Walmart, specifically those labeled as 'Bettergoods Chicken Curry Empanadas', which may actually contain 'Bettergoods Apple Cinnamon Empanadas' that include milk, an undeclared allergen. The issue arose after four consumer complaints prompted FSIS to investigate the product produced by Rajbhog Foods, Inc. The empanadas were sold in 9.6-ounce packages with best-by dates of May 21 and May 22, 2026, and are no longer available for sale. Although no adverse reactions have been reported, consumers are advised to discard or return the products to the store.
