The Last Dinner Party Announces Second Album From Pyre

The Last Dinner Party, a London-based baroque-pop band, has announced their second studio album, From the Pyre, set to release on October 17 via Island Records. The album, produced by Markus Dravs, follows their 2023 debut Prelude to Ecstasy, which achieved notable chart success. From the Pyre is described as a collection of character-driven yet deeply personal stories, bound by an album-as-mythos concept where 'The Pyre' represents a place of violence, destruction, regeneration, and light. Themes in the album include emotionally charged events portrayed through vivid imagery involving rifles, scythes, saints, cowboys, and apocalyptic elements, with the band emphasizing a darker, rawer, and more earthy sound compared to their debut. The lead single, “This Is the Killer Speaking,” blends theatrical and country-pop elements and has been performed live at major festivals throughout 2024 and 2025. The album features ten tracks and is supported by a European and U.S. tour, including appearances at prominent festivals like Lollapalooza Paris and All Things Go.
