An intense gunfight erupted along the Line of Control (LoC) in Kupwara district, Jammu and Kashmir, involving the Indian Army and Pakistan's Border Action Team (BAT). The encounter, which took place at the Kumkadi post in the Trehgam sector, resulted in the death of one Indian soldier and injuries to four others, including a captain, with one soldier later succumbing to his injuries. A Pakistani intruder was also killed during the exchange of fire, while two intruders managed to return to Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. This incident comes amidst a recent surge in terrorist activities in the region, following a period of relative peace. The Indian Army continues its operations in the area to counter these threats.
