American Black Film Festival Plans Miami Showcase June 2025

The 29th annual American Black Film Festival (ABFF) will take place in Miami Beach from June 11 to 15, 2025, focusing on showcasing Black talent and storytelling through a diverse array of film screenings, master classes, and panel discussions. Nia Long and Larenz Tate have been appointed as ABFF Ambassadors, and will host an intimate conversation about their film 'Love Jones'. The festival will also feature events like the 'Because They’re Funny' comedy show and the 'Legendary White Party', culminating in a 'City of Miami Community Day' aimed at enhancing cultural appreciation. Meanwhile, the Miami Film Festival will highlight local productions, including the world premiere of 'Ethan Bloom' and the East Coast premiere of 'Becoming Vera', with nine films competing for the Made in MIA award. Both festivals emphasize the importance of community engagement and the celebration of Black culture in cinema. Attendees can purchase passes for access to various festival events.
