Reynolds, Jackman Join Ownership of Australian SailGP Team

Actors Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds have become co-owners of Australia's SailGP team, now rebranded as the BONDS Flying Roos, joining driver and CEO Tom Slingsby in leading the three-time champion sailing team. The team, sponsored by Australian underwear brand BONDS, will debut under its new ownership at the Mubadala New York Sail Grand Prix on June 7-8. Jackman expressed his deep love and pride for Australia and his enthusiasm for sailing, while Reynolds brings his experience from other sports investments, including the Welsh soccer club Wrexham A.F.C. and F1 Team Alpine. SailGP features 12 national teams racing identical 50-foot foiling catamarans at high speeds, with Australia having dominated by winning three titles in four seasons. The addition of Jackman and Reynolds is seen as a significant milestone for SailGP, adding star power, storytelling, and humor to the sport's growth and fan engagement.
