Luigi Mangione Arrested in Brian Thompson Murder Case

Luigi Mangione, 26, has been arrested and charged with the murder of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson, who was shot outside a Manhattan hotel on December 4. The day before his arrest, the FBI interviewed Mangione's mother, Kathleen, after San Francisco police alerted federal agents about a missing person report they had received from the family. Kathleen informed investigators that her son resembled a suspect in surveillance images released by the NYPD, although she was not entirely confident it was him. Mangione was arrested at a McDonald's in Pennsylvania, where he was found with fake IDs and a 3D-printed gun linked to the murder. He has been resisting extradition to New York, but may waive it soon, according to the Manhattan District Attorney. The Mangione family expressed shock and devastation following his arrest and offered prayers for Thompson’s family.
