Czech Republic to Receive First Quantum Computer
NXP, eleQtron, and ParityQC are collaborating to develop Germany's first quantum computer demonstrator, focusing on ion trap technology and bridging classical and quantum computing. Meanwhile, Quandela and attocube systems AG are set to deliver Europe’s most powerful photonic quantum computer, named 'Lucy,' with an initial capacity of 12 qubits, aimed at serving the scientific community by 2025. IQM Quantum Computers has also won a contract to deliver the Czech Republic's first quantum computer, featuring a unique 24-qubit star topology, designed for efficient quantum error correction. These initiatives represent significant steps in advancing quantum technology across Europe, supported by large-scale funding efforts such as the EuroHPC Joint Undertaking. Each project aims to enhance the capabilities of quantum computing for various applications, from research to industry. As these developments unfold, they highlight Europe's growing role in the global quantum computing landscape.
