Elite Women’s Boxing Tournament Begins Hyderabad Featuring Nikhat,Zareen,Lovlina Borgohain

The Elite Women’s Boxing Tournament 2025, scheduled from June 27 to July 1 in Hyderabad, Telangana, will feature top Indian boxers including two-time world champion Nikhat Zareen and Tokyo Olympic bronze medallist Lovlina Borgohain. Organized by the Telangana Boxing Federation under the Boxing Federation of India and the Sports Authority of Telangana, the event serves as a crucial competition for boxers who missed the national championships earlier this year, with gold and silver medalists earning spots in the elite national camp in Patiala. The tournament will host over 100 contenders across ten weight categories from 15 teams, including top squads like Railways, Haryana, and the Combined SAI National Centre of Excellence team. Notable participants also include former world youth champions Ankushita Boro and Arundhati Chaudhary, world championship bronze medallist Manisha Moun, and Olympian Preeti Pawar. BFI President Ajay Singh highlighted that this competition aims to strengthen India’s domestic boxing structure by providing competitive exposure and a platform for emerging talent to challenge experienced boxers, thereby bolstering India’s standing in global boxing. The event is expected to play a key role in shaping the national team for upcoming world championships and other major competitions.
