Playboi Carti Charged in Utah Limo Assault

Rapper Jordan Terrell Carter, known as Playboi Carti, was cited and later charged with a class B misdemeanor assault in Wasatch County, Utah, over an Oct. 2 altercation with his limousine driver during his Antagonist/Antagonist 2.0 Tour. According to police reports and driver Carl Reynolds of ALC A Limousine Connection, Carti and his girlfriend fought in the vehicle—reportedly while smoking marijuana—and Reynolds says Carti struck the girlfriend and then punched him after he intervened, leaving Reynolds with facial bruising and a whiplash-like injury deputies photographed. Deputies responded to the scene, and charging documents indicate the alleged assault occurred Oct. 2 with formal paperwork filed Oct. 9; Reynolds says another company driver witnessed the incident and Carti’s head of security separated the parties. Carti has continued touring as scheduled and his representatives have not publicly commented.
