GMP Investigate Attempted Abduction in Irlam

An 11-year-old girl narrowly escaped an attempted abduction by a man and woman while on her way to school in Irlam, Greater Manchester, at 8:30am on January 14, 2025. The suspects attempted to grab her but she managed to escape and alert an adult. Greater Manchester Police (GMP) have launched an investigation and are seeking any dashcam, CCTV, or doorbell footage from the area. The suspects were reportedly driving a black four-door car and a new-looking small white van with a sliding door. Police have increased their presence in the area to reassure the community and are urging anyone with information to come forward. Detective Inspector Justin Bryant confirmed that the girl and her family are being supported during this distressing time.
