U.S. Traffic Incidents Result in Multiple Fatalities

Several recent traffic incidents across the U.S. have resulted in fatalities and injuries. In Buckeye, Arizona, a pedestrian suffered life-threatening injuries after being hit by a vehicle in an area without a crosswalk, prompting a road closure for investigation. In Savannah, Georgia, a pedestrian died after being struck by a vehicle, with the investigation still ongoing and no charges filed yet. A Tucson, Arizona incident saw a 54-year-old man killed in a crosswalk after being hit by a pickup truck; the driver, who was not impaired, is cooperating with the investigation. In Fresno, California, an unhoused woman was killed after stepping into traffic; the driver involved was not under the influence and cooperated with authorities. Lastly, a fatal crash involving two vehicles in Knox County, Indiana, resulted in the death of Tammy Payton and injuries to two others, with traffic diversions in place during the investigation.
