Body Found After Fatal Inflatable Boat Collision Near Portsmouth

A collision involving a private rigid-hulled inflatable boat near Tipner in Portsmouth on August 14 resulted in the deaths of two men and left another hospitalized. A man in his 60s from Emsworth was pronounced dead in hospital following the crash, while a man in his 50s from West Sussex was treated for injuries. A search for a third man who went missing after the incident concluded with the discovery of a body on the morning of August 19, whose formal identification is pending but whose family has been informed and supported. The boat involved was not stolen, did not sink, and has been recovered. Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary, working with the Marine Accident Investigation Branch, continue to investigate the circumstances of the incident.
