Iran Revolutionary Guards Arrest Eight Suspected Mossad Agents Amid June Conflict
Iran's Revolutionary Guards announced the arrest of eight individuals suspected of collaborating with Israel's Mossad by transmitting coordinates of sensitive military sites and details about senior commanders during Israel's June air campaign targeting Iranian nuclear facilities. The suspects allegedly received specialized training from Mossad operatives via online platforms and were apprehended in northeastern Iran before they could carry out planned attacks on government and military targets. Authorities seized materials for making launchers, explosives, and booby traps from the suspects. These arrests come amid a broader crackdown during the 12-day conflict between Iran and Israel, in which Iranian police reportedly detained up to 21,000 suspects. Iran has also executed at least eight people recently, including nuclear scientist Rouzbeh Vadi, on espionage charges linked to Israel, while human rights groups warn such charges are used for political repression. The conflict involved Iranian missile and drone retaliations against Israel and U.S. strikes on Iranian nuclear sites, culminating in a U.S.-brokered ceasefire.
