Second Man Arrested for Manslaughter on British Cruise Ship
James Messham, a 60-year-old man from Shoreham-by-Sea, West Sussex, died following an altercation aboard the MSC Virtuosa cruise ship in British waters on May 3. Initially, a 57-year-old man from Exeter was arrested on suspicion of murder but was later released pending further inquiries. Subsequently, a second man, aged 56 from Richmond, London, was arrested on suspicion of manslaughter and remains in custody. The cruise was reportedly filled with stag and hen parties, and witnesses described scenes of drunken brawls shortly after boarding. Hampshire Constabulary is actively seeking information from anyone who was on board during the incident and continues to support the victim's family. Mr. Messham was known for operating the travelling show Messham's Wall of Death, a historic motorcycle stunt show dating back to 1929.
