To accommodate the increased travel demand during the Ganesh festival, multiple transport services across India are scaling up their operations. The Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport (BEST) will deploy 24 special overnight buses in Mumbai from September 7 to 16, connecting various parts of the city to popular Ganesh pandals. The Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) is operating around 5,000 extra buses from Mumbai, Thane, and Palghar to the Konkan region, with significant group bookings and additional facilities for passengers. Similarly, the Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) is running 1,500 special buses from Bengaluru to various destinations, catering to the travel rush from September 5 to 8 for the Swarna Gowri and Ganesh festivals. Additionally, Maha Mumbai Metro Operations Corporation Ltd (MMMOCL) will enhance Metro services on Lines 2A and 7 with 20 extra trips from September 11 to manage festival traffic. Special weekly trains will also be operated between Tirupati and Srikakulam Road to handle the extra rush during the festival season.
